Unique bridge project by Silvasti, Finland involved heavy haulage, barges and pontoon cranes
Silvasti Ltd transported 5 massive steel structures from Kalajoki, FIN to Kasnäs, FIN. These bridge blocks, biggest so far in Finland, were to be used for new 470 meters long bridge at Lövö. Silvasti´s scope included loading and securing of structures and transport to the worksite by barges. The two largest structures were each 114 meter long and 11 meters wide. Weight was 240 tons per piece. Rest of structures were each 80 meter long and weights was around 200 tons per piece. This very demanding project was totally unique in Finland. Everything went very well and challenging project was executed as just as planned.

Silvasti´s scope included total logistics project management from project planning to final delivery up to jobsite:
- loading structures from factory to the pontoon in port of Kalajoki, using 8x4 heavy duty tractors, modular axle lines and SPMT –axles
- securing structures to the pontoon by chains and welding
- sea transport from Kalajoki, FIN to Kasnäs, Lövö –worksite by pontoons pulled by tug boats, in two shipments
- undoing the weldings after sea transport and coordination of unloading process
